FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Final Task "Review"

Wow, long time... I've been busy, but today I bring you my personal point of view of... FINAL TASK of the Cycle 11!

The finalists, roco_90 and bornthiswaay (really well deserved), had to make five outfits with the last trends.

Here it is what they submited:

(trends in order: sporty, cut out, mod, victorian blouse, candy colours)

I have to say that both did great and, at least, my marks for each were really close.

I loved the Mod outfit from roco_90, she really got the idea of the style and reflected it in her look. Also the Candy Colours outfit got me like "wow!", that skirt fits great with the rest of clothing.

The Victorian Blouse outfit of bornthiswaay transmits elegance and has the classic touch that makes it perfect. And her Candy Colours look is also one of my favourites, I would wear it any time!

And finally the winner is... BORNTHISWAAY! Both were close, and for a few points more, bornthiswaay got the first place! Congraaaaats, you did amazing! ^^

It's been a great experience judging this cycle. I've learnt a lot and met lovely people!

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 9 "Review"

This time contestants had to make an outfit basing in this text (written by Judith *.*):

"You could tell without knowing her that she was a confident independent woman. She walked everywhere like she owned the floor she was stepping on. She had never been an insecure person, she had never worried about others opinion. She didn’t have to pretend because she already fitted in. Her arrogance, her snobbishness, her pride emanated from every pore in her skin while a deep desire of disconnecting from her hectic life popped a little big through her clothes choice. She was who she was, and for an unknown reason people seemed to like her."

I think is not easy at all making an outfit basing in something as abstract as a text, but it tells a lot about how it should be. It's important to understand correctly how is the woman's personality, because that's what will define the look created, every phrase in the text gives you clues to know it.

Here are the key words to make a good outfit:

confident independent woman

never worried about others opinion

didn’t have to pretend

arrogance, snobbishness, pride

deep desire of disconnecting from her hectic life

people seemed to like her

So what I see is a woman with a strong personality who only cares about her own opinion, but wants to change her life (not her personality).

Judges we didn't have to make any outfit this time, but I made one so I'll post it here to show you my point of view in this task:

There were two contestants that, in my opinion, got the idea of the text:

Who based her outfit in the classic combination of white and black.

Who decided to use bright colours in her outfit.

Both of them tried to show an independent and self-confidence woman, and they did great!

And next task will give the chance to come back to competition to a previous contestant, which is great!

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 8 "Review"

Not an easy task at all, adapting an outfit to the street basing in an outfit made for a performance is complicated because they usually are a bit weird haha! But it's posible so here we go!

As no one have made the outfit basing in Ariana Grande, and I couldn't make mine for the examples, I will now (although I'm not a big fan of her):

She has a lovely and girly style, but she's a diva at the same time. She usually wear lady clothing with short skirt and high platforms, so that's what I've tried to reflect in this outfit.

The key in this task was forgeting about the personal style and trying to imagine that you are the artist.

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 7 "Review"

"Riding on my bike": This task was free style, but that can be a big problem if you don't understand the task or you aren't much inspired.

To me, the key in this task is the phrase "imagine you're attending a fashion week and to get there you're going by bike". Now there are two main concepts: fashionable and comfortable.

Fashionable: make people remember your outfit, make them say wow!

Comfortable: no high thin heels.

There was beautiful outfits in this task, but the one that really got my attention was:

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 6 "Review"

Omg, I haven't written for three weeks... I'm sorry, I was so busy, but I'M BACK! And I bring you the review of the TASK 6.

"Classic man": It was about wearing like a boy, yeah, like a boy. The main idea of this task was wearing LIKE A MAN, not with men inspirations.

I really enjoyed this task, everyone did a great job so I had to include most of the outfits!

I just love this outfit, it's classic and so chic! And every detail is carefully placed in the outfit. I really can imagine men wearing this!

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 5 "Review"

Jewellery, luxe and wealth were some of the hints for this task!

To sum up, creating an outfit to transmit a luxury life, focused on jewellery.

My outfit for this task is based in a great huge necklace. I wanted it to stand out, so I combined it with a total white look.

I really liked the outfits of sweet_gal11, JanetteLow, platinumgals and kickherout, each one giving to her look her creative personal touch:

Not a fan of the skirt, actually I have never known how to combine it, but in this outfit looks so great!

This is my absolutely favourite outfit from this task, no doubt. This colour block look gives me life!

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 4 "Review"

Two clues for this task: Funeral and black. Enough.

Funerals are a serious thing, and you have to dress in an appropriate way. That's what this task was about.

Here's my outfit: long black dress with laced sleeves and little silver complements. Elegant, simple and appropriate. Hair and make-up were also very important in this task.

This time everyone did a great job, all outfits were appropriate, but only three of them gave me that extra touch that I was looking for in this task:

The typical long black dress with that fringed jacket just looks amazing.

Multi-layered, minimalist and sober. Looks great to me!

Elegant, feminine and sophisticated.

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 3 "Review"

"Less is more"

This time Mireia and Judith propose us to make an outfit inspired by Swedish style, which is comfy and minimalist.

This task has been one of my faves because I loooove minimalistic style! You can say and transmit a lot with basic clothing.

And... here's my outfit: tri-coloured, no prints and smooth textures.

What was important to me in this task? Two words: COMFY + ELEGANT

There were really interesting looks, I really liked the outfits made by CoralCool91, sweet_gal11, yulissahermosa and MissAngelFace..

But these that made me say "wow!" are...:

This outfit is elegant and impecable, and the combination with the skin tone and that hair is stunning.

bornthiswaay

This outfit got my max. mark, I had to give her a 10 cause I think it's just perfect. I wouldn't change anything. Everything matches perfectly and the whole outfit looks so great! Here I can see the "comfy + elegant" combo that corresponds to swedish style.

I have to say that total white and total black looks are my weakness! And that leads us to the next task... Making an outfit for a funeral (with just one clue, BLACK!).

FM-STYLE: Cycle 11 - Task 2 "Review"

Here I am again with my opinion about Task 2! This time contestants had to create an outfit combining a red turtleneck which can be found in Starplaza.

This was my outfit, with a good colours combination, but a bit simple because I did want contestants to use their creativity.

What would have I done in this task? As the garment we have to combine is simple and basic, we can do whatever we want with it. I mean, we can add so many different textures, colours, kind of accessories, etc. That's the reason why my highest marks goes to those who have taken some risks, and not only combined the turtleneck with some basic pants and a coat.

And I have to say that I'm really happy about the results of this task, soooo... here are my faves!

These outfits looks sooo great, each one with her own style!

But... The two I like the most are:

kickherout

What I love in this look is the colour combo's (how the red turtleneck stands out and how she has combined black with that dark blue skirt, that helps the outfit not to be much serious) and the hair, which goes perfectly with the outfit.

JanetteLow

What I like in this outfit is the creative idea of matching the skirt with the pants. That's something we don't usually do, but we should! But what I like the most is the mixing styles, the romantic skirt and hair and the black-brown combination, which gives so much personality to this outfit.

Good job to everyone, I just loved this task!
